Zelcore 8.11.0 expanded seed phrase support to include 18-word and 24-word phrases and removed the one-seed-account limit, giving self-custodial users more flexibility in how they secure and organize their wallets. The release also introduced a legacy account option and delivered targeted fixes for Kadena, XRP, and Ravencoin.
What's new
- 18-word and 24-word seed phrase support alongside the existing 12-word option
- Multiple seed accounts in a single wallet — the previous one-account limit has been lifted
- Legacy account support with username/password options and BIP44 recommended accounts
Seed Phrase Options
Users who generate or import wallets secured with longer phrases — common in hardware wallets and certain other self-custodial tools — can now do so directly in Zelcore without workarounds. This change benefits users migrating from external wallets that issued 18- or 24-word phrases, as well as users who simply prefer the added length. Setup follows the same recovery flow as the 12-word option: navigate to wallet creation or import and select the phrase length that matches your existing backup.
Multiple Seed Accounts
Prior to this release, Zelcore enforced a single seed account per wallet. Version 8.11.0 removed that restriction. Users can now add and manage multiple seed-based accounts within one Zelcore installation, which is useful for separating funds by purpose — trading, savings, or business — without maintaining separate app instances. Alongside this change, the release introduced a legacy account option that supports username/password credentials and BIP44 recommended accounts, providing a path for users who relied on older account structures to continue managing those accounts alongside newer seed-based ones. Account sync order was also adjusted in this release to keep the account list organized as the number of accounts grows.
Additional fixes in 8.11.0
This release resolved several chain-specific issues. Kadena users received two fixes: chain ID visualization corrected an incorrect display when constructing send transactions, and a WalletConnect signing bug was addressed for a smoother dApp signing experience. The minimum required XRP balance was adjusted to 1.2 to align with current network requirements. Ravencoin users saw fixes to asset sending and backend reliability improvements. The Ravencoin token list was also updated to include the latest assets.
How to update
Zelcore updates automatically on desktop — open the app and it will prompt you if a newer build is available. On mobile, update through the App Store or Google Play. You can also download the latest release directly from zelcore.io. If you run multiple seed accounts after updating, review your account sync order in Settings to confirm the order reflects your preference.
