Zelcore 8.20 ships FluxDrive integration, bringing decentralized file storage directly into the wallet alongside new Kasplex Testnet support for the Kaspa ecosystem. Both additions reflect Zelcore's ongoing expansion from a pure asset-management tool into a broader self-custodial platform.
At a glance
- FluxDrive file management system with upload, download, drag-and-drop, and folder navigation
- Secure file encryption applied before upload to FluxDrive
- Kasplex Testnet support with native KAS coin and WKAS token
- WalletConnect integration on Kasplex Testnet for dApp connectivity
- Improved seed phrase handling with automatic trimming and lowercase conversion
FluxDrive File Management
FluxDrive integration gives Zelcore users a decentralized file storage layer backed by the Flux ecosystem, accessible without leaving the wallet.
The feature set is comprehensive. Users can upload and download files using a drag-and-drop interface, organize content into folders, and navigate a familiar directory structure. Uploads are not sent raw: Zelcore applies file encryption before any data leaves the device, so the stored content remains protected. Parallel processing support means large or multiple uploads do not block the interface. The system also enforces file type validation and size restrictions, reducing the risk of inadvertent uploads of unsupported or oversized content.
The practical workflow is straightforward. Open the FluxDrive section, drop files into the upload area or browse to select them, track progress in the upload indicator, and retrieve them later from the folder view. Cross-platform file system access means the same stored files are reachable whether you are on desktop or mobile.
The strategic context here is the Flux ecosystem. Flux operates a decentralized cloud infrastructure network, and FluxDrive is its user-facing storage product. By integrating FluxDrive into Zelcore, users who already hold or interact with Flux assets gain a unified environment where their crypto holdings and their decentralized storage coexist. It also positions Zelcore as a gateway into Flux's broader ecosystem rather than simply a wallet for FLUX the token. For power users who care about censorship-resistant data storage, having encrypted decentralized file management tied to their self-custodial wallet removes one more dependency on centralized cloud providers.
Kasplex Testnet Blockchain Support
Kasplex Testnet support extends Zelcore's Kaspa ecosystem coverage to the testnet layer, enabling developers and early adopters to interact with Kasplex-based dApps before they reach mainnet.
The integration covers both the native KAS coin and the WKAS token on the Kasplex testnet network. Full WalletConnect support is included, meaning testnet dApps that use the WalletConnect protocol can pair with Zelcore and request transaction signing without requiring a separate dedicated wallet. Developers building on Kasplex can therefore test end-to-end user flows — wallet connection, token interactions, transaction confirmation — using the same Zelcore interface their eventual mainnet users will see.
For non-developers, testnet support is a signal about roadmap direction: Kasplex is the token and smart-contract layer being built on top of the Kaspa network, and Zelcore is positioning early to support it. Users already holding KAS in Zelcore have a direct path into that ecosystem when relevant dApps go live. The WKAS token support specifically indicates readiness for wrapped-asset workflows that are common in DeFi and cross-chain bridge contexts.
Adding testnet networks carries a practical implication: testnet assets have no real monetary value, and the network is primarily for experimentation. Users who want to explore Kasplex functionality can do so in this dedicated testnet environment, separate from their mainnet holdings.
Smaller Updates
Seed phrase security improvements are the most user-facing fix in this release. Zelcore now automatically trims whitespace and converts input to lowercase when a seed phrase is entered or pasted. Multi-word paste handling has also been improved. These changes address a common class of wallet-restore failures where users inadvertently copied trailing spaces or mixed-case characters from password managers or text editors. The improvement is invisible when it works — the wallet simply accepts valid phrases it previously rejected — which is exactly what good defensive input handling looks like.
User interface improvements were also included as general enhancements across the app, tightening the overall experience without introducing new flows.
How to Update
Zelcore updates automatically on most platforms. If the update has not yet applied, open the app and check the update prompt, or download the latest version directly from zelcore.io/download. The 8.20.0 release is available for all supported platforms. After updating, FluxDrive appears as a new section in the app, and Kasplex Testnet is available to add as a network from the asset management screen.
