Zelcore 8.26.0 shipped native token support for the Cardano blockchain alongside full WalletConnect integration, giving Cardano users access to dApps and token management from a single self-custodial wallet. Kaspa transaction handling also received meaningful improvements in this release.
What's new
- Native Cardano token support for SNEK, MIN, and WMT, plus manual token import
- Cardano WalletConnect integration with CIP-30 wallet standard support
- Improved Kaspa UTXO management and fee calculation
Cardano Token Support
Zelcore 8.26.0 introduced full native token support for the Cardano blockchain. Three tokens are available out of the box: SNEK (Snek), MIN (Minswap), and WMT (World Mobile Token). Beyond those three, the release also added a manual Cardano token import feature, so users are not limited to a predefined list — any Cardano native token can be added to the wallet directly.
This brings Cardano users the same flexible token management that EVM chains have offered for some time. Balances, sending, and receiving all work within the existing Zelcore interface, with no separate app or workaround required.
Cardano WalletConnect Integration
Zelcore 8.26.0 added complete WalletConnect support for Cardano, enabling direct connections to Cardano dApps without transferring funds to a browser extension. The integration supports transaction signing through WalletConnect and conforms to the CIP-30 wallet standard, the Cardano community specification that dApps use to communicate with wallets.
In practice, this means any dApp that implements CIP-30 can prompt Zelcore for signatures. The combination of native token support and WalletConnect in a single release makes Zelcore a more complete Cardano wallet for users who interact with the Cardano DeFi ecosystem.
Kaspa Transaction Handling
Kaspa transaction processing was updated in 8.26.0 with several UTXO-level improvements. A minimum transfer threshold of 0.3 KAS was set for change outputs, which prevents the creation of dust UTXOs that can accumulate and degrade future transaction efficiency. UTXO selection logic was also optimized to improve how inputs are chosen when building transactions, and fee calculation and change handling were enhanced alongside those changes.
Together these updates reduce the likelihood of transaction failures or inefficiencies on the Kaspa network, particularly for users with wallets that hold many small UTXOs from prior activity.
How to update
Zelcore updates automatically through the in-app updater. Open Zelcore, navigate to Settings, and check for updates to install 8.26.0. Prefer a manual download? The latest release is always available at zelcore.io.
