Zelcore 8.35.0 added staking for NEAR and SUI directly in the Earn tab, alongside fixes that made prices far more reliable on restrictive networks and hardened the Send screen and transaction history across a wide set of coins. The release extended Zelcore's self-custodial staking lineup while closing out reliability gaps that affected everyday sending and price data.
At a glance
- NEAR staking in the Earn tab, with validator selection, full and partial unstaking, withdrawal, live APY after commission, and staking history.
- SUI staking in the Earn tab, with an activation-period notice, network info, and staking history.
- Price loading fixed for users behind proxies or restrictive networks, with automatic fallback and retry.
- Send screen fixes across NEAR, SUI, TON, XRP, Cardano, Kaspa, Algorand, and EOS.
- Fixes to the "Transaction Sent" popup, FIO Handle resolution, Igra bridging, and transaction history for Cosmos-based coins and Ink.
NEAR Staking
NEAR staking let users earn rewards on their NEAR holdings without leaving Zelcore. It works through the Earn tab: users pick a validator, stake their NEAR, and can unstake fully or partially whenever they choose, then withdraw once the unstaking process completes. The Earn tab shows live APY after validator commission, so the displayed yield reflects what a user would actually receive rather than a gross network rate, along with a full staking history for tracking past stake, unstake, and withdrawal actions. This brought NEAR in line with Zelcore's existing self-custodial staking model, where keys never leave the user's control and the entire staking lifecycle happens within the same interface already used for sending and receiving — there's no separate app or web dashboard to authorize. Choosing a validator and seeing commission-adjusted APY up front also means users aren't left guessing how a validator's fee affects their actual return before they commit funds. Adding NEAR extended Zelcore's self-custodial staking model to another major proof-of-stake network, giving holders of the asset a way to put it to work without handing custody to a separate staking service or a centralized exchange.
SUI Staking
SUI staking brought the same Earn tab experience to SUI, letting users stake their holdings to earn rewards from within Zelcore. To stake, a user opens the Earn tab, selects SUI, and stakes their balance the same way they would any other supported asset. Because SUI staking involves an activation period before rewards begin accruing, the Earn tab surfaces a clear heads-up during that window so users understand why rewards aren't yet showing up immediately after they stake, rather than assuming something went wrong. Alongside that notice, the tab provides network info and a staking history specific to SUI, so users can track their stakes over time in the same place they manage the rest of their portfolio. As with NEAR, the flow keeps custody with the user throughout — there's no third-party custodian holding the staked assets, and no separate wallet or bridge required. Shipping SUI staking in the same release as NEAR reflected a push to broaden Earn tab coverage across the ecosystems Zelcore supports, giving users of two more major chains a native, self-custodial way to earn rewards rather than needing to move assets elsewhere to do so.
Smaller updates
This release also addressed a price-loading problem affecting users on restrictive or proxied networks: when a proxy connection was blocked, Zelcore now falls back to a direct connection, retries automatically, remembers the last known rates at startup so prices aren't blank on launch, and shows a banner when prices look out of date. The Send screen received a broad set of reliability fixes across NEAR, SUI, TON, XRP, Cardano, Kaspa, Algorand, and EOS, eliminating stuck spinners, blank or zero fee displays, and errors that were previously swallowed silently instead of being shown to the user. Other fixes included the "Transaction Sent" popup no longer lingering or reappearing after switching coins, reliable FIO Handle address resolution for sending to human-readable handles, restored bridging on the Igra network following its Toccata upgrade, and more dependable transaction history loading for Cosmos-based coins and Ink. The release also included routine same-major dependency updates for security and stability, along with general UI/UX improvements and performance optimizations across the app.
How to update
Zelcore checks for updates automatically and will prompt when 8.35.0 is ready to install — no action needed beyond accepting the update when it appears. Users who prefer to update manually, or who are installing Zelcore for the first time, can download the latest version directly from zelcore.io/download.
