Zelcore 8.36.0 restored SUI after the Sui network retired the connection method Zelcore relied on, and improved how staking rewards and validators are shown for SUI holders.
What's new
- SUI Restored: balances, transaction history, sending, swaps, staking and connected apps work again, with a fallback connection if one is unavailable
- SUI Staking: rewards and APY calculated from each validator's own on-chain rate history, with the actual holding validator shown per stake position
SUI Restored
The Sui network retired the connection method Zelcore used, which broke every SUI action in the app — balances stopped updating, transaction history stopped loading, and sending, swaps, staking and connected apps all failed. Zelcore 8.36.0 reconnected SUI using a working connection method, so those actions function normally again. The update also added a fallback: if the connection Zelcore is using becomes unavailable, it now switches to another one rather than failing outright, reducing the chance of a repeat outage.
SUI Staking
Zelcore 8.36.0 changed how it calculates SUI staking rewards and APY, pulling the figures from each validator's own on-chain rate history rather than a single shared source. This gives a more accurate picture of what a specific stake position is actually earning, since validators can differ. The update also fixed which validator is displayed against each stake position, so it now shows the validator that actually holds the stake rather than a mismatched one.
How to update
Zelcore updates automatically through the built-in updater in Settings, or the latest version can be downloaded directly from zelcore.io. SUI users affected by the earlier outage should update to 8.36.0 to restore full functionality.
